Plan on Planning!

The most important lesson for 2011 is planning...
After six month's and six new client's there is one lesson which must be learned for all businesses, you better plan and do not focus it on making money.

It doesn't matter if you're an internet service company like BAILEYpc or if your a company expanding your business model to the internet, if you do not plan, and if that plan is not a central focus of your niche it will fall into the extreem percentage of failures.

Don't be another internet statistic and do your planning. Plan it arround the demands of your costomers, provide that service regardless the money, and you will set yourself apart from the competition. Before you know it the money shows up and you will fulfill the last purpose to your endeavour - the money.

Home Based Business

In the business world the Home Based Business tends to be dismissed and not taken seriously. Only large corporate companies with large glass buildings and massive overhead attract more attention but this could not be a more twisted perception. Another lame mindset comes from the personal perspective "its too difficult" which is another way of saying "I'm too lazy".

Here are some facts:
  1. Home based business accounts for more than 50% of all business
  2. They employ more people than venture capital-backed companies
  3. This one is huge! "More than 90% are cash positive" - they do not run on borrowed money
  4. Another huge one! "A Home Based Business can be started with less money than 1 year of a daily Starbucks coffee" (Less than $730)

There is a litany of positive reasons to start an HBB from taxes to personal gratification but there is no measure for the feeling of being free to pave your own path. Laying down the asphalt has never been easier in human history than today with the help of the Internet. The Internet has created a new Industrial Revolution for opportunities and Independence. Affordable full color advertising coupled with easy and free payment methods like PayPal, literally there is no excuse to complain about your paycheck when you can create a second income or replace your current. With enough dedication you could easily secure your own future.

So with all the obvious reasons to start your HBB how about the current 10+% unemployment rate reason. Why participate in a politically slanted economic system that limits your income from an employer or ultimately eliminates your job. Companies are saving money by eliminating employees and demanding more from less on a smaller staff. But remember, they are not eliminating the duties. So outsource yourself, provide your skills to like companies on the side and supplement your current income, or go all in and replace your income with double, quadruple, and even ten-fold your current income. To go out on your own the Internet again comes to your assistance for free with sites like Elance. Please take the time to read "Trading Careers For Gigs" at Elance.com, also learn about Elance, it can be a life changer for you and your new HBB you are going to start.

Good luck and God's Speed!

It's 2011, how can the Web save small business?

BAILEYpc is asking businesses large and small, "how can we survive the big competitors and big Government"?

Our focus will continue to be on small business, mainly start ups, and those companies that have been stuck in "start up" mode for months or years. A Blog is easy and cheep, free in most cases, and a great tool for marketing. Make one, link to it from your main site or even use it as a primary site, and beat governments attempts to regulate online business. A Blog, when kept current with rich content, can drive traffic to your product or service without expensive online ad campaigns.

As a refresher, the Web has changed a lot since its inception, since BAILEYpc started, but the old techniques still work and this is key to your online success. In fact the old techniques in most cases are still free monetarily BUT not in time. It is still time consuming to market your site especially if you choose to do it at minimal or no cost. Please refer back to our original post on this Blog; we are still focused on small business and start ups and this Blog will weigh heavily on that angle.

BAILEYpc will also talk about new technology as well, delve into a little information for the larger fish but our goal will always be small fish oriented... that is our model.

Website Marketing or Not

Should local businesses, brick and mortar, depend on their Website for marketing? Will it help your small local business or is it still impossible and even useless.

Despite the World Wide Web and the ability to bring vast areas closer together, a question most small businesses still have is, "does the Web only work for large companies or can a small local business use it for marketing and sales as well"?

We do know that most local businesses rely on "word of mouth" and "drive by advertising". But most businesses looking to grow need large advertising and need it affordable. Usually a call to a local Webmaster or small Web business to build their site is made, then a site is built, and finally an expectation of some sign of growth is expected. And again, in most cases they see zero results!

So again, is this a capital issue that the business can only spend “X” amount of money and that amount is not enough to make a dent? Or is the problem that Webmasters and Designers do not know how to market, just build a Website?

Let’s just say in nearly every situation I have experienced I would say that both are true. Search Engines have created a raw Capitalistic model for ad placement; best spot to the highest bidder. This is raw Capitalism and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The problem is that Web Designers design and Web Programmers program… what you need is a Web Marketer. A person or a company that understands the model and knows how to work that model to your benefit without draining your marketing budget.

BAILEYpc, Inc. has, since 1996, created a company that will host, design and market your business all within your budget and your targeted advertising market.
